CASEY’S ONE-MAN CABINET

RADICAL MOVE IN BENGAL London, April 5. The one-man Cabinet of Mr R. G. Casey. Governor of Bengal, is disposing of Bengal’s Governmental business at a rate new to the Province’s ponderous administrative machinery. Mr Casey is adding to his own duties the functions of both Cabinet and individual ministers. The Australian Associated Press special correspondent says so far the European-owned press has been discreetly quiet about Mr Casey's radical move and has refrained from editorial comment and given scant space to his activities. Indian Nationalist papers have published columns of windy editorial advice but there has been no abuse. It appears likely that Mr Casey will control the Province’s affairs for some time, seizing the opportunity to rid it of some of its administrative and political ills.
