ONE AIR SORTIE: SEVEN AWARDS
(Rec. 10.30 a.mfl.) London, Oct. 1. A single R.A.F. sortie has resulted in decorations for six officers and one airman. There is one D. 5.0., one bar to the D.F.C.. .four D.F.C.’s and one D.F.M. One night in August the recipients participated in a sortie involving a minelaying mission over the Port-mund-Ems canal. Despite the fact that the area was most heavily defended, mines were laid with great precision.
