OVER £11,000,000 WANTED

DISTRICT PERCENTAGES Victory Loan subscriptions now total £28,916,729, leaving £11,083,271 still to be found in the three days remaining before the loan closes on Wednesday. The most successful district so far is Southland, which has contributed 90 per cent, of Its quota. Auckland is in second place with 87 per cent. Other objective percentages are:— Otago, 72 cent.; Gisborne-East Coast, 71; Taranaki. 70: Marlborough, 70; North Otago, 70: Wellington, 65; Northland, 64; Manawatu, 64; Wanganui, 63; Hawkes Bay, 61; Buller, 60; Nelson, 60; South Canterbury, 58; WaikatoKing Country, 55; Thames-Bay of Plenty, 55; Canterbury, 54; Westland, 54; Wairarapa, 53. District Objectives Reduced Because subscriptions to the Victory Loan from national institutions have been heavie • than anticipated, the National Victory Loan Committee has been able to reduce the districts’ objectives by 10 per cent.
