SEQUEL TO COLLISION AT RICHMOND

ONE DRIVER CHARGED IN COURT In the early hours of Sunday morning two cars collided at the corner of Queen street and Salisbury road, Richmond. He driver of one car, Mr’Frank Hadfield.. received cuts on the head and was attended by a doctor. The driver ot the other car, Mr George Arthur Smith, and his two passengers, were not injured. Mr Hadfield was driving alone in a small car into Richmond, and the other, a larger car. was proceeding east along Queen street. The small car was turned round and finished up facing east, and Mr Smith’s car broke two windows and several verandah posts of Mr J. Green's store on the corner, and broke down a corrugated iron fence. Both cars were damaged. As a sequel George Arthur Smith, described as a farm labourer, aged 20. appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this morning before Mr T. E. Maunsell. S.M., charged with being intoxicated in charge of a car. Defendant, represented by Mr J. H. Ralie. pleaded not guilty. He was remanded till 13th October, in his own recognisance of £25.
