INTERNATIONAL BANK
HEADQUARTERS IN AMERICA Ntnv Vork, July 19. The ‘Now York Times” correspondent at Brctton Woods says that Lord Keynes has abandoned the fight: to make London the headquarters of the monetary fund and the International Bank by withdrawing a resolution under which the location of both institutions would be determined after the first meeting. Consequently, the. conference has adopted the United States proposal making America the headquarters. However, Lord Keynes has made the reservation that Britain may find it necessary later to ask that the location should be decided among the Governments concerned. Final decision on the world bank is delayed as delegations are awaiting further instructions from their home Governments, particularly regarding the subscription quotas for the bank and how much of them will be payable in gold.
