LATE FLYING OFFICER TRIGG’ AWARD Auckland, May 27. This morning Their Excellencies, the Governor-General and Lady Newall, attended by Major H. A. Jaffray, left Auckland by air for Victoria Valley, North Auckland, where His Excellency handed to Mrs L. A. Trigg, the Victoria Cross and Distinguished Flying Cross awarded to her husband, the late Flying Officer L. A. Trigg, R.N.Z.A.F. Their Excellencies return to Auckland this afternoon. —P.A. Mrs Trigg and her two sons had flown from New Plymouth earlier in the week and were the guests of the V.C.’s brother. Mr C. B. Trigg. The ceremony was marked by simplicity and sincerity. The only persons present in addition to the Vice-Regal party were Flying Officer Trigg’s 83-year-old grandmother, Mrs Charles White, Mrs Lloyd Trigg and her two little sons. Private A. H. Trigg, wearing the insignia of an overseas draft, Flying Officer Trigg’s only sister. Mrs Neil Reynolds. Whangarei, and the h«*t and hostess.
