NEWS ON FRONT PAGE
Sydney, April 14. The “Sydney Morning Herald” today appears with the principal news on the front page. Explaining the change, the paper says that it is essential “that we should not only provide space for news, but also adopt a manner and method of presentation which will spread the knowledge of present problems yet more widely and bring them home yet more deeply among people of this country.” The paper adds that there is an urgent public demand for more papers and more news, and to meet this demand. advertising, particularly of the display variety, has been substantially cut.
