REGIMENTATION TO GO
DR. KVATT ON POST-WAR YEARS Sydney, April 15. The special wartime restrictions would disappear with the end of the war, said the Attorney-General, Dr. H. V. Evatt. addressing the annual conference of the Public Service Association. He added that there must be free and fair play for private enterprise and for people generally. “There seems to be confusion.” he added, “about the restrictions and illfounded forebodings about the postwar government. Private enterprise, in post-war planning, far from being excluded, will be required to employ all the initiative and resources of which it is capable. This will be almost impossible if large and powerful monopolies and combines were exempted from national supervision ” The post-war years would require a close liaison between private enterprise and the Government, and a fair and just balance would have to be maintained between the Government and private activity.
