SUPPLIES FOR NORWAY
AGREEMENT WITH SWEDEN London, April 14. M. Trygue Lie, Norwegian Foreign Minister, and Count .Beck-Friis, Swedish Minister to the Norwegian Government, on behalf of Norway and Sweden have signed a pact in London under which immediately Norway is freed Sweden will send her large supplies of food, machinery, agricultural equipment and other goods needed for the country's rehabilitation. The Swedish Government’s credit will for a period of years and will be, it is believed, at a moderate rate of interest. M. Sohlman, head of the commercial department of the Swedish Foreign Office. announcing the signature to the pact, said the Norwegian Government had already placed orders approximating 50.000,000 Swedish kroner (about £3.000,000) with Swedish firms for delivery after the liberation. The majority of the orders so far placed concerned foodstuffs. The Dutch also had placed orders in Sweden for post-war delivery, and contracts had also been made w*th the Belgians.
