TEN ENEMY SHIPS SUNK
U.S. SUBMARINES IN FAR EAST Washington, Jan. 8. United States submarines have sunk ten more enemy ships in the Pacific and in the Far East. A Navy communique lists them as follows: a large freighter, medium-sized transport, large tanker, five medium freighters and two small freighters. A Pacific Fleet communique reports that Seventh Air Force heavy bombers struck at Taroa and Motje in the Marshalls last Thursday. No fighter opposition was encountered and all bombers were undamaged.
