ADMISSION BY TOKIO (Rec. 11.0 a.m.) New York, Jan. 9. The official Tokio radio admitted: “The enemy has advanced in strong force to Torokina, Bougainville and Merkus, New Britain, in order to establish air bases and has thereby completely crashed into our air mastery sphere.” The radio added: “The fact that the enemy is advancing by using fighters as well as large types of bombers indicates that his rear supply is considerably solidified.”
