CITY COMPETITION WINS FOR AIR FORCE TEAMS Playing in hot weather at Trafalgar Park on Saturday in the Nelson City Association’s cricket competition both Air Force teams had wins. The B team defeated Athletic-Old Boys by 68 runs on the first innings, and the A team scored a win against Army by 141 runs on the first innings. AIR FORCE A SUCCESSFUL Batting first in the match against Air Force A at Trafalgar Park, Army scored 115, Louis being topscorer with 33. Hoar took five wickets for 15 runs. Thanks largely to a good 93 by Dewar and an unbeaten 66 by Hope-Ede, Air Force finished up with 256. Dewar’s tot ’ included one 6 and twelve 4’s. Air Force won by 141 runs. Going in a second time Air Force declared when the score reached 64, with two wickets down, leaving Ath-letic-Old Boys 133 to make to win.
