OBITUARY
SIR ARTHUR HILL London, Dec. 8. The death has occurred of the noted shipping authority Sir Arthur Hill, aged 80 years. He was chairman of the Board of Trade Advisory Committee on Merchant Shipping from 1907 to 1937. Washington, Jan. 9. The death has occurred of Mrs Herbert Hoover, at the age of 68. REV. T. R. RICHARDS Wellington, This Day. The death has occurred of the Rev Thomas Retallick Richards, aged 78, for 40 years a minister in the Methodist Church in various parts of New Zealand. He leaves a widow and six sons and a daughter.—P.A. Mr Richards, who received his training at Queen’s College, Melbourne, was accepted as a candidate for the ministry at the Methodist conference held in Nelson in 1895. He married a daughter of the late Rev. William Lee, a minister at St. John’s, Nelson, in the early days. Mr Richards was president of the Methodist conference in 1925.
