EIGHTH SUCCESSIVE DAY
ALLIED AIR ASSAULTS ON FRANCE (Rec. 1.15 p.m.) Rugby, Jan. 7. Air correspondents point out that Allied air attacks on northern France to-day mark the eighth day of continuous day and night air assaults on targets in France. Strong forces of United States Eighth Air Force Fortresses and Liberators attacked targets in south-western Germany to-day. They were escorted by American fighters and given withdrawal support by United States, R.A.F., Dominion and Allied fighters.
