ABNORMALLY BAD WEATHER
NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN IN RAID London. Nov. 23. The 75 New Zealand Squadion participated in the raid on Berlin last night. The crews report bad weather and icing. The squadron’s new flight commanders are Squadron Leaders J. K. Climie. D.F.C., Wellington, and D. S. Gibb. D.F.C.. North Canterbury. Climie carried out the first tour with the 75. and he has now returned for the second. Flying Officer lan Lock. North Auckland. was in another Stirling squadron for the Berlin raid. He was captain of an English crew, and it was his sixth operation. “We saw no fighters and no fighter flares.” he said. “We went straight in and out and dropped a huge tonnage of incendiary bombs right over the city. We were there eight . minutes after zero and could see the snarkles of the first explosions but few fires. It was not a bad trip, but the weather was abnormally bad.” Lock, who is aged 20 years, was formerly in Scientific Research Department.—P.A. Soecial Correspondent.
