CLOUDY WITH RAIN Wellington, This Day. The indications are for moderate variable winds, southerlies predominating, weather cloudy to overcast with some further rain but improving, temperatures cold. The further outlook is for conditions becoming fair with some frosts likely. After light showers during thc afternoon. rain set in steadily last evening and continued during tho night. *.40 of an inch having bee recorded by if.CO o clock this morning. Conditions to-day were overcast and showery with no wind. There was only 27 minutes’ bright sunshine in Nelson yesterday. MAPUA RAINFALL The September rainfall for Mapua was 6.92 inches, just over an inch more than was experienced in Nelson during the same period. Rain fell on 20 days during the month, the heaviest fall for any one day being 1.21 inches. Mapua’s total rainfall for the year to date amounts to 28.64 inches.
