AIR RAID VICTIMS
CRITICAL POSITION IN GERMANY “BITTER CONSEQUENCES OF R.A.F. DAMAGE” Zurich, June 24. The German Government has organised an “office for the provision of living quarters for air raid victims,” under Bormann, Reich Housing Commissar, and the Minister of Justice. Bormann stated: “The housing problem owing to the R.A.F. is extremely critical, rendering it necessary to confiscate all insufficiently occupied flats and houses. Voluntary contribution is no longer enough as west and north-west Germany are now war zones like any other war front. The bitter consequences of R.A.F. damage are undeniable and forcing us to consider the air war with realistic seriousness.” Bormann added that promises to the population for coming revenge would not solve the problem. Every German must make great sacrifices to overcome the present situation.— P.A.
