“DIVINE INTERVENTION”
MILDMAY MISSION OPENS In spite of the weather, a good num ber were present at the Marsden Hall last night to hear Mr Alfred Williams speak on “Divine Intervention.” He took as his text Titus 2:11. “The Grace of God that Bringeth Salvation hath appeared unto all Men.” Mr Williams showed that not only had God intervened in miraculous ways during this present war but that God had definitely intervened in the affairs of men when He acted towards them in grace at the Cross of Calvary. Grace, the speaker pointed out, was “kindness shown for no other reason than to bless and do good.” And God’s Grace was readily available to all mankind to meet the varied needs of our lives. Mr Williams then outlined under four headings the way in which God’s magnificent grace was sufficient for us. It was sufficient for our (1) suffering. <2 > sanctification. (3) service. (4) salvation. Under the last head the speaker showed that God's grace had brought sal vation to us —salvation . from sin’s penalty and power: and this was made available to us through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. "By grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Mr Williams will be speaking again to-night in the Marsden Church Hall and his subject. “Personal Evangelism” is one of interest.
