LUFTWAFFE OVER BRITAIN

BOWLERS GUNNED AND CHURCH HIT London, Aug. 8. A raider dropped a stick of bombs on a town in the south of England, killing one and injuring five. A raider on the coast of south-east England gunned a country district. A raider in the northeast of England dropped a stick of bombs on a fishing village and directly hit a Methodist church and hall. Some were injured. The same raider gunned bowlers participating in a game in a neighbouring area. There were no casualties. Spitfires chased away two Messerschmitts which shot down a barrage balloon in the Dover area.
