RATIONING IN SOUTH AFRICA Cape Town, April 28. The rationing of lubrication oil begins on Ist May, when motorists will be restricted to new supplies every 2000 miles. Reduction of petrol consumption to 170 miles a month begins in Southern Rhodesia on Ist June. Paper control regulations are to be enforced shortly, reducing the supplies of daily newspapers by 55 per cent., week-end issues by 60 per cent., weeklies by 50 per cent., and magazines by 40 per cent. —P.A.
