CONSCRIPTION OF MEN AND WOMEN
TO BE DISCUSSED BY PARLIAMENT [From Our Own Parliamentary Reporter! Wellington, This Day. An assurance was given by the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon that ample opportunity would be given members to discuss the question of conjs< ription of men and women for war | and industry. Mr Fraser was replying to an urgent question on the subject ■ asked by Mr J. A. Lee (Democratic) Labour, Grey Lynn). Mr Lee suggested the setting aside of a lull day for such a debate. “I do not know that I can set aside a lull day for a debate on the matter,’’ said Mr Fraser, "but I can say that ample opportunity will be given for discussion.” Mr Fraser added that a statement v. ould also be made.
