For instance there would be very heavy calls on the Red Cross Society for parcels to be sent to the increasing number of war prisoners and although 11)is had been allowed for in the budget there was no knowing what fresh demands might be made on tin* funds. Members felt sure, however, that the committee had the backing of the people as a whole and that the same generous response would be forthcoming as in the past two years. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Matters in connecti m with the Independent Mounted Ritks were also discussed and the necessity for providing assistance at the canteen to be established shortly when the social hall is reedy was referred to the Richmond Branch of the W.W.S.A.
