PROTECTIVE DEFENCES
HUNDRED MEN WORKING TO-MORROW The army is using to-morrow the servicts of one hundred men from the EPS. section for erecting protective defences on a sandy beach. Those who have volunteered for the work are asked to be at the assembly points at 8.30 a.m. and to bring lunch and a mug. Those who possess a maul or a heavy hammer or axe are asked to bring them for the purpose of driving posts. Heavy pliers and wire-cutters would be useful. The party will arrive back j in town at 4.30. Following are the assembly points:— 1. Church Steps; 2. Saltwater Bridge; 3. Russell street; 4. Richardson street.
