NELSON’S “MONEY BALL”
ONLY HALF WAY TO TOr VICTORY SAVINGS QUOTA NOT OBTAINED j Nelson is finding less than half its weekly quota in the National Savings Campaign. Y’et there are more savings groups in the city than in any other town in New Zealand, with the exception of the four centres. There is also a greater proportion of group savers per head of population in Nelson than in any other centre with a population of over 10,000. j A “money-ball” is suspended from I tne flag-pole at the Post Office to ini c icate, barometer fashion, the daily j savings deposits in relation to the city’s weekly quota of £943. When or if the quota is reached a pennant with the word Victory on it will be flown [ j from the top of the pole until the fol- ! I lowing Monday, when the ball will drou I back again to the bottom. Last week ! the money ball did not reach the halfway mark.
