HEAD-ON COLLISION
LIGHT CAR AND TIMBER LORRY THREE MEMBERS OF FAMILY INJURED Auckland, Oct. 27. Three members of a Hamilton family were seriously injured when a small car they were in was involved in a head-on collision with a three-ton motor lorry laden with timber on the Great South Road at Popakura. The car was badly smashed. The victims were:— John Frederick Mawson Clarke, motor mechanic, aged 28, head injuries and concussion. Mrs Gladys Clarke, his wife, aged 25, head injuries, concussion and a possible fracture of the shoulder. Valerie Clarke, their daughter, aged 3, concussion. The condition of Mr and Mrs Clarke is serious. The driver of the lorry was not injured.—P.A.
