—♦- ANNUAL CHORAL FESTIVAL The Cathedral choir will hold its 23rd (annual festival on Tuesday next. 28th mst , at 8 p.m. The choral and solo items will include special settings of five i famous hymns, also excerpts from llai | del’s oratorio "Israel in Egypt" and Spohr s “God. Thou Art Great." The violin and organ will be associated m Beethoven's "Rornanza in G Major '’ , Miss Austin (violin* and Miss F. Benst maim (contralto* are the assisting artists. The organ item- include Liszt's "Consolation.” excerpts from Boellmann's “Suite Gothique” and Holloway "Suite Ancienne." The recital will con|elude with a new setting of the welli know n hymn "All Hail the Power." arranged by Vaughan Williams. A collecition will be taken tor the choir funds.
