CERTIFICATES PROPOSED Wellington, Oct. 24. The Minister of National Service, : Me R. Semple, announces that the issue r.f a certificate to men who are per manently medically unfit for any type ! n[ military service—that is. men m grade four—is receiving consideration. He had been requested by Mr J. A. Roy : ‘Opposition. Clutha) to consider giving [this class a badge to protect them from ! the accusation of being shirkers. “It is not considered practicable nor | desirable," comments Mr Semple, “to is.«-ue certificates to men w ho are medi I rally classified in grades 2 and 3 in v«c\v of the fact that their medical i,lading may be subject to change from time to time. and. in addition, they are 1 able to some form of military service. The fact that a person holds a certificate of enrolment in the general reserve is prima facie evidence that he has fulfilled his obligations."—P.A.
