B.M.A.’S DECISION
CLAIMS TO BE RENDERED TO PATIENTS REFUNDS FROM SOCIAL SECURITY FUND The Council of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association has decided that under the General Medical Service regulations doctors will render claims to patients who will in turn claim refunds from the Social Security Fund. Dr J. P. S. Jamieson, of Nelson, chairi man of the National Health Insurance Committee of the 8.M.A.. in announcing that decision to-dav said: "The position is that doctors will continue to practise ;as hitherto. They will render claims to patients and will give the necessary documentation to enable patients to obtain from the Social Security Fund the refunds to which the Act entitles them.’’
