AFTER BED TIME IN TOYLAND
(Original) Characters: Mary (a little girl); Nurse; Wendy, Jean, Peggy, Mickey Mouse, and Donald Duck, Teddy (dolls). Scene 1: A Nursery. Mary: Oh dear, I suppose it will soon be bed time. I’m going to skip. (She picks up rope from floor.) Nurse (entering room): It is bed time, Miss Mary. Mary: I’m just going to put the dolls to bed. (She starts doing so). Nurse: Hurry then. (She leaves the room.) Scene 2: The Dolls are Alive Teddy: Well, I must say that she is very kind to us. All: Rather! Wendy: Let us repay her. All: How? Wendy: Give her our artificial flowPeggy: What a good idea! Scene 3: Mary’s Room Wendy: Wake her up, Jean, please. Jean: All right. (She shakes Mary). Mary (sleepily): The dolls! Wendy (handing the flowers): This is to repay you for your kindness. Mary: Oh, how lovely, thank you so much. THE END —Barbara Kerr, East Takaka.
