LULU, THE BUDGIE
We have such fun with Lulu, Alice Yesterday Mum put two mirrors in her ‘cage, one at each end. For a while ' Lulu strutted about before them, and then, going to the seed tin, picked a few seeds up in her beak and tried to feed the mirrors. Of course, the mirrors refused to be fed. but Lulu wouldn’t be daunted by a little thing like that. She tried for about five minutes to make those mirrors take the seeds she was so generously offering them. At last she got a little angry, and flew up to her perch. A few days ago I got a bagful of sand from the beach and cleaned Lulu’s cage out. Now, I’m quite used to seeing showers of sand descend on to the writing-desk as Lulu scratches around on the bottom of her cage. Dad is going to put two pegs high up on the back verandah for her as it will be too hot in the sunporch during the summer
