DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE
William Gourlcy Gorman was charged in the Magistrate’s Court this morning with driving a motor vehicle when he was not the holder of a driver’* license. Senior Sergeant C. Petersen said that accused was involved in an accident on Haven road in which a child was killed. There was no suggestion of negligence or that failure to have a license in any way caused the j accident. Accused said he had previously had a driving license but had not renewed it this year. He had not been able to call at the Council office when it was open to get a license. ‘ Then I forgot about it. and when I did remember I forgot. That's all." Gorman was convicted and lined £l, costs 3s.
