STRANDED IN SYDNEY

PEOPLE UNABLE TO COME TO NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS NOW MADE Wellington, Sept. 22. For some weeks owing to lack of shipping accommodation several hundred people have been unable to obtain passages to New Zealand from Australia. Some are New Zealanders desiring to return home. The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, announced to-day that at the request of the Government, shipping arrangements had now been completed to remedy this state of affairs and those who have been temporarily stranded will have the opportunity of returning to the Dominion. The matter was the subject of a question in the House of Representatives last week.—P.A.
