Besides the j achievement of considerable success as i night-lighters during the early part of ! this year, it was a squadron of Beau- ' fighters whicl., among other successful : operations, carried out the attack on j aerodromes in Sicily on 28th June, | when between 30 and 4> enemy aircraft were destroyed on the ground, and many others damaged. Th : Bristol Beauiighter is an allmetal mid-wing monoplane, fitted ! with two Bristol Hercules engines. It i has accommodation for a crew of two and a nominal top spc_d of over 330 , ni.p.h. at 14,000 feet. Its nominal range is 150° miles. The Beauiighter armed with four cannon in the fu.sel..ge and six machine-guns in the wings-8.0.W.
