FRENCH INDO-CHINA
i DOCUMENTS PROVE NAZI AID TO JAPAN Rugby, Aug. 2. The degree of control that is exer- | cised by the Nazis over the foreign pol- | icy of the Vichy Government has been ! shown by a scrutiny of documents that i have been found among archives ot the High Command for Syria by the Free French Forces. They also indicate the close collaboration which exists between Japan and Germany. A report from the “Direction des Services d’Armistice” for 15th Janu- | ary last stated: ‘’Reinforcements in both men and material granted by the ! German and Italian armistice commis- : tion have been sent or are being sent chiefly to French West Africa. On the other hand, the German commission still refuses to allow a reinforcement I of men or material for the defence of Indo-China. New efforts arc being made to improve that position. On 15th February another report read as follows: “The German commission has informed us of its final decision to forbid all reinforcements to Indo-China of men and whether from France or Madagascar. Under an “air force” heading was the following: “The German commission has refused all reinforcement of the defence forces in Indo-China. This lefusal applies in particular to the sending to this colony of American-built planes on board the Bearne (French aircraft carrier) at present immobilised at Martinique.” —BO.W.
