MURCHISON APPEALS

SERVICE WITH ARMED FORCES A sitting of the No. 5 Armed Forces Appeal Board was held at Murchison this week. The members of the board are as follows: Messrs F. F. Reid. S-M., (chairman), G. M. Hall, and A. H. McKane. Mr E. C. Champion is the Crown representative. In the following cases the appeals were on the grounds of pubfic interest and undue hardship unless otherwise stated. Herbert Francis Watson, appeal by Mr F. P. Watson.—Withdrawn as reservist has joined the Air Force. Owen William Farrell, appeal by Mrs Ada Farrell.—Withdrawn as reservist has joined the Air Force. I). Stuart Boddington, appeal by Director of National Service on grounds of public interest only.—Dismissed. Monatgue Bernard Warne, appeal by Aliss B C. Warne.—Dismissed subject to reservist not being called for service before Ist October. Claud Reid, appeal by Mrs M. A. Lodge.—Dismissed subject to reservist not being called for service before Ist October. Douglas Reid, appeal by Mrs M. A. Lodge.—Adjourned sine die on grounds of public interest, John Werner Hill, appeal by Mrs L. E. Hill.—Adjourned sine die on grounds of public interest, reservist to be transferred to Territorial forces. Eric Arthur George Baily, appealed by Mrs E. J. Creighton.—Adjourned sine die. James F. McAuliffe, appeal by Air T. E. McAuliffe.—Appeal adjourned sine die, reservist to be transferred to Territorial forces for training during April, May and June. Ritson Hewison, appeal by Air G. P. Bailey.—Adjourned sine die, to be revised in January, 1942.
