INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF FORCES MOBILISATION OF TERRITORIALS UNLIKELY Wellington, This Day, The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, when asked what steps will be taken H fill the post of Inspector-General of the Military Forces vacated by MajorGeneral Russell, said that there was no intention of filling the position. He expected that an early announcement would be made of the successor to General Duigan who recently retired from the position of Chief of the General Staff. Asked whether the mobilisation of territorials was contemplated in New Zealand in view of the fact that this is being done in Australia, the Minister of Defence replied that there was no intention to have complete mobilisation of the Territorial forces at the present time—P.A.
