OBITUARY

LORI) RENNELL London, July 28. The death has occurred of Lord Ren—nell at the age of 83.—U.P.A. Lord Rennell, created a baron in 1933 had been a distinguished member of the British diplomatic service, and he was also the author of a number of historical works and of verse. He entered Balliol College, Oxford, arid in the IHBo’s began his diplomatic career with the first of a long and varied series of appointments. He was Ambassador to Rome from 1903 to 1919. and he was a British delegate to the League of Nations in 1921 and 1923. In 1928-32 he was a Conservative member of the House of Commons. He held many awards and was a Privy Councillor.
