WOOL DEPOT

_ .._ A FINE RESPONSE In January the convenor of the Wool Depot made an urgent appeal to knit ters for a large quota of articles to be ready by the end of June. The response has been most gratifying with the result that more has been supplied than was asked for. The order was for 1,080 each scarves, balaclavas and pairs of mittens. The numbers forwarded have been 1356 pairs mittens. As well as these, there were 112 pair gloves. 158 pullovers, 180 caps. 20 pairs socks for the Army, and j 49 pullovers. 104 balaclavas, 186 scarves. 32 pairs sea-boot stockings for the Navy, i Good supplies of khaki and navy wools are still available at the depot and it is hoped that knitters will carry on with their good work.

MAPUA W.D.F.U. A business meeting of the Mapua branch of the W.D.F.U. was held at Mrs Forsyth’s residence when Mrs Grainger i was in the chair. The mottor was, "Look for the best in your neighbour.” I A supply of wool from the Nelson de_ * pot was eagerly taken up by knitters.
