WAIMEA BATTALION Promotions: “E” Coy. P/S E. C. Lowe, to be Company Sergeant-Major; Section Leader P. L. Rankin to be Platoon Sergeant. Transfers: "A” Cov., H. J. Topliss, A. 1 F>. Toll. C. H. F. Goldfinch, C. Parsons, E. G Froggarlh, all to No. 11 Platoon. J. Sowman, transferred from Cobb River to No. 13 Platoon. “A” Coy. D. Bashall is transferred from Wakefield to No. 5 Platoon, “B" Coy. G. W. Tuffnell is transferred from Richmond to "B” Coy. N. C. Hall. No. 14 Platoon, is transferred to “B” Coy. Strength : The following recruits arc posted as follows: M. Johnson, S. V. CBurns, W. H. Hadfield. L. A. A. Brown, all to “B” Coy. L. H. Thomas to “A" Coy. P/C J E. Walker is struck off Home Guard records on transfer to Territorials. ORDERS “A” Coy will parade at Area Headquarters at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday, for rifle issue. Attention is drawn to Area Orders. 10th May. J 941, Para. 10: A free issue of 20 rounds of .22 ammunition per man will be made to the platoon with the oest record for (a) efficiency, <b) attendance (as per capitation return) for the quarter ending 30th June, 1941. N.C.O. class. Drill Hall, 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday Subject, Musketry. (Lieut. F. L Sharland).
