NEW STAMP ISSUES
CHANGES IN COLOUR As the war has had the effect of altering the postal rates charged on letters sent overseas to foreign countries from New Zealand, it has become necessary to change the colours of certa’ stamps, and this will be done in July. There will then be issued a King George penny stamp printed in green, instead of in red as at present. For the present, stamp-vending machines will still supply green halfpenny stamps, but as soon as the stocks are exhausted the colour of the halfpenny stamp will be changed to a light brown, so there will not be two green stamps of different values in use at the same time. Subsequent changes will be the printing of red penny-half-penny stamps and of blue threepenny stamps. It is anticipated that by July all the over-printed stamps will be used
