THOSE GARTERS
Remember them? Worn below the knees—so coy! Worn about the knees with the stockings rolled over them. In epidemic form they came, most of us became infected, and as suddenly they vent. Women may do silly things in the name of fashion—but not for long. Today suspenders are described as invisible, an ' they are so slick that they don’t show even with long, clinging evening dresses. Corsetry has banished not only garter but a number of other disfiguring things. No one has to apologise for a “rubber tyre,” that roll that cnce proclaimed a tight waistband or the top of the corset belt. All-in-one controlettes with youthful uplift brassieres, above the waist boning, fabric boning, or skintex reinforcing have done well away with the roll. They also, by lengthening the lines from bosom to waist and from underarm to thigh give an illusion of slimness whatever tale the weighing scales may tell. We hear less about banting because women realise that they need not starve to have good figures. Curves, properly controlled, add to feminine appeal and even the sleekly fitted dresses of the moment are easy to wear over the right foundation. Fashionable women to-day have the right corsetry for every occasion. The strongly moulding foundation for tailormades. the pliable, long-lined controlctte for sweeping evening dresses. They wear easy step-in models for sport and the house, driving a car, and such times. Washable and of lightest weight materials they yet stand up to plenty of wear, look after the figure, and launder well. See some of these new designs for yourself. Better still, get a fitting. You may know your measurements, but corsetry is an exact art now. and your figure type must be considered for best results. Many shops employ a trained corsetiere. and she can sum you up in a way that will make you realise that you have a much better figure than you guessed.
