ACTIVATED CARBON
PRODUCTION IN AUSTRALIA [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-Copyright] (Rec.. 1.20 p.m.) Sydney, This Day. Activated carbon, an essential component of gasmasks, which is made in Australia for the fighting forces, is now being produced from coconut shells by a local company in a New South Wales factory. When continuity of supplies of activated carbon from overseas was threatened the company erected a f r-tory and took steps to secure supplies of coconut shells from the islands.
