PROPOSAL FOR CITY TO MAKE LAND AVAILABLE MAYOR’S NOTICE OF MOTION In connection with a proposal that the City Council makes land available for the erection of pensioner flats in Nelson, the Mayor (Mr G. L. Page) has given notice that he will move the following motion at the next meeting of the council, on Thursday evening:—
“That the council make available to the Government Housing Department that piece of land adjoining the Electricity Store and having a frontage of 135 feet to Paru Paru road, subject to the giving of an undertaking by the department that it will erect thereon two 4-unit flats to be made available for the use of old age pensioners at a rental to be approved by the council before the erection of the fletfs is commenced.”
