EXCITEMENT AMONG PASSENGERS
INCIDENT IN THE ATLANTIC [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-Copyright] (Rec., 1.50 p.m.) Jersey City, Apl., 21. Passengers aboard the American ship Siboney told to-day how three shots were fired near the ship by two British warships on 12th April in hazy weather 320 miles from Lisbon. The Siboney carried 350 passengers, 77 of whom were Americans. The shots caused turmoil among the passengers, said the captain as it was thought they were German raiders. Captain Habel said the ships were the K 25 and K 122. At Bermuda he protested, calling the incident inexcusable inasmuch as the position report was sent out shortly before the ship’s cargo was navicerted. The American flag was painted on the side.
