AWARDS ANNOUNCED

AUCKLAND CATHEDRAL DESIGNS [U.P.A.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] LONDON, 10th February. The awards in the Sir Giles Scott competition for a design for a cathedral at Auckland were announced today. The first prize, with a premium of £IOOO, was awarded to Mr Charles Towle, of Sydney; second prize, £4OO, to Mr Amyas D. Connell, of Auckland, who lives in England; third prize, £2OO, to Messrs Fergus and G. F. Sheppard, of Auckland; fourth prize, £IOO, Messrs Donner and Bartlett (Auckland). The designs are now being exhibited at the High Commissioner’s office in the Strand. Mr Connell, who is a Rome scholarship winner, practises here with a Mr Ward, of Wellington.
