OIL TANK EXPLODES
RUMANIAN PETROL LOST IUPA-Bv Electric Telearaph-Copvright | BUCHAREST. 9th December. The heavy explosion of a giant oil - tank of high-powered aviation petrol | belonging to a Standard Oils subsidi- j ary shook Ploesti and started a fire j which raged for hours before brought under control by German and Ruman • ian firemen. It is officially stated that the petrol involved was ready for export. The explosion was due to a careless workman lighting a cigarette too near the tank.
