THE NEW PLYMOUTH MATCH NELSON COLLEGE TEAM LOCAL GAME WITH GREYMOUTH ] The College Ist XI will leave Nelson on Friday night for New Plymouth to play their annual match with New Plymouth Boys’ High School. The Nelson College boys have been handicapped by the bad weather this season and have had only three competition matches, winning one and losing two. Tlu team is: F. J. Bowers (capt), C. V. Neale (vice-captain), H. W. Heaps, R. A. Muggeridgc, E. Lucre, B. G. Gully. K. N. F. Sanford, B. M. A. Johnson, B. A. Price, R. G. Grant, A. G. Goodyer; 12th man, H. W. Hill. Mr R. IT. Methven will act as manager. VISIT OF COAST TEAM The College 2nd XI will play their annual match with the Ist XI of Greymouth Technical High School on the Nelson College Ground on Thursday and Friday of this week. Play will commence at 10.15 a.m. on Thursday and continue till 5.45 p.m. On Friday afternoon there will be a bi-eak on account of the College prize-giving. Play will be till 12.15 in the morning, and from 4.45 to 5.45 in the afternoon. Since this game was. first played in 1934 the teams have been very evenly matched, four of the six matches having been drawn. In 193 G the Nelson College team obtained an easy victory, scoring 404 runs in an afternoon, but Greymouth had their revenge the following year, winning by 105 runs.
