PATRIOTIC FARM
I IFTY PEA-PICKERS WANTED A large band of willing pickers has been out on the Patriotic Farm at Hope to-day picking the second crop of peas, and the City Patriotic Committee makes an earnest appeal for at least 50 voluntary helpers both for to-morrow and Wednesday. Free transport leaves Newman Bros.’ Garage each morning at 8 o’clock, and for those using their own cars a certain number of petrol coupons ara available. Mr J. L. Pugh, chairman of the Appleby Patriotic Committee makes a personal appeal to pickers in the country districts to come along and help this splendid patriotic effort. All willing to help are asked to ring th«' Hon Secretary of the Women’s National Reserve. Miss L. Turton, phone 15‘<4, or Mr F. V. Powell, phone 1215 (day) or 975 (night).
