TROTTING CLUB JUDGE REPLACED

DECLINED TO ACT WITHOUT AN ASSISTANT DUNEDIN, 6th December. At a meeting of the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s committee to-night the action of the judge at a recent meeting. Mr A. O. Wellwood, in declining to act without an assistant was discussed. The chairman said the position was governed by the rules and no judge was entitled to have an asistant. It was a breach of the rules. Mr J. Stevens was appointed judge for the remainder of the season. A complaint by the starter, Mr A. J. Hastings, that one of the stewards. Mr H. Halliday, had accused him of making a bad start in the last race was also considered. After a discussion Mr Halliday apologised. AUCKLAND CLASSICS AUCKLAND. 6th December.
