CHANGES IN SCHEDULE
FIFTH PERIOD IMPORTS [United Press Assodauon) WELLINGTON, This Day. Licences will not now be granted for the importation in 1941 of aluminium hollowware for domestic use (ex item 356 (1) (b), according to information given by the Customs Department to merchants. The fifth schedule has been amended accordingly. Under the original schedule there was a 50 per cent, cut on imports from Britain, and it is believed that it is the intention of the department to cancel licences already issued to import aluminium hollowware under the terms of the original schedule. Several other changes in the fifth period schedule have been notified. Licences will be granted for the importation from the United Kingdom of perambulator tyres not exceeding ljin in diameter for wire-spoked wheels, ex item 205 (5), to the value of the applicant’s imports from that source in 1938. Importation will also be permitted from Australia of cast.iron rainwater soil and similar pipes, ex item 362 (2) (a), under fifth period licences issued for the United Kingdom.
